Nine Month Checkup

Carter had his 9 month checkup this afternoon with Dr. Dunlap at Pediatric Associates of Dallas.  He was exhausted because we came straight from Mother's Day Out, but he did just fine.  Below are a few pictures of him while we were waiting for the doctor:

And into the mouth they go!

Now chewing on his bag tag...

And trying to push over the car seat :)

Below are his stats:

Weight: 19lbs. 15oz. (45%)
Length: 29.5" (85%)
Head: 18" (55%)

These are pretty consistent with his other checkups, so he seems to be right on track!  Dr. Dunlap gave Carter a good report and said that he looks perfectly healthy.  He is a little behind on the mobility portion, but he said that not crawling yet is normal and not to worry about it.  He also told me that he should be ready for table foods soon.  Yikes!  That is a whole new world, but I guess we will venture into it sometime soon.

There were no routine vaccinations given, but he did receive the second dose of the flu shot.  As usual, he cried for a few seconds, but was fine as soon as I picked him up.  They also used a bag inside his diaper to get a urine sample.  That was interesting!  The first time the nurse put it on him, he immediately ripped it off as soon as she turned her back (and I told her that he would)!  I was actually amazed that they do this at such a young age.  He did go to the restroom while we were there, but the bag had come loose and did not "collect" much of a sample.  The nurse thought it would be enough to test, but she said that if it wasn't, they would just do it again at his 12-month appointment.  Oh joy!

He came home from school with no pants on!
I guess his other clothes got dirty and they couldn't find the extra pair in his bag...

Blowing bubbles

We are so thankful for another good report!  We love you, Carter Lee!
